  you could hear this one as far away as the "eight bells", she stopped when i came along then when i went into the library the howling started up again.

  Maybe her family were spending too long looking for books and she became very impatient of sitting there !!!

  they're all much the same, i had a lhasa apso and would tie her up outside the newsagents while i bought a paper, one minute later when i came out she would be howling her head off even though it was an almost daily routine.

  Perhaps she heard her owner complaining that the books were all dog eared!
  Do nothing and nothing happens.
