i paid a vist to hawkinge cemertry last tuesday,to have a look at the millitry plot there.quite an eye opener it was to,apart from the useall british air force,there was 1 polish forces,1 chackslovac,and a whole bunch of german fighter/bomber pilots/crew buiried there in the same plot.

There is something special (if that is the word) about war graves as opposed to an ordinary cemetery that seem so depressing and sad.
Could it be because the area is so well cared for and also the surroundings seem so peaceful as Brian says,

Maybe war cemeteries are a bit like large print books with lots of pictures. Rather effortless, yet effective in getting their story; or more correctly 'the story' over. For it is much more a tale of the entire place than of the individual egos that have their last hoorah graven and mounted over their heads in community graveyards.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

It is interesting, I have been to funerals at Hawkinge but I never knew there was a military plot. Like Barry I will have to pay a visit.

there are a few plots around the area,but not a lot of people no about them.
