The referendum on the status of the Falkland islands demonstrates an overwhelming desire to remain British.
1,517 votes were cast over 2 days, a 90% turn-out, resulted in 1,513 people voting to keep the Falkland islands British. Three people voted against. The vote was monitored by international observers to demonstrate it was a fair process.
Under the UN treaty the principal of self-determination is well established. This ends, of should end, any claim the Argentinians think they might have.
Don't count on it though - the Argentinians do not care about the wishes of the inhabitants and will not accept self-determination where it does not suit them.
