    This was a long time coming. The Police can now arrest straight away which is a very good thing in this situation. Squatters have or had no incentive to leave a property as..simples, it gave them accommodation, a roof over their head etc..while the owner trailed through the courts at great expense to re-enforce his right to live in or repossess his own property.

    Being a civil matter previously it was very expensive to evict, now it is part of criminal law and therefore much easier...the Police do not have to drive away from a squat situation as they did previously.
