  Howard: You hit a sore point with many truck drivers - the eejit behind the desk directing operations probably doesn't know his fifth wheel from his TIR cord and only knows what a truck looks like because there's a photo of one hanging in his office!! I'd be a very rich man if I'd had a pound for every time I've heard the phrase "but it's only two inches on the map!". Luckily I don't have that problem with my employer but I did have to point out to our customer why it was impossible to meet the same delivery time in London as we used to have in Dover!!
  
  This sort of situation is nothing new where the people calling the shots have no idea what goes on at the coal face. And career politicians are no exception!!
