But the advantage to us is that those locally employed by these International Corporations spend their earnings here; we in turn should be making sure that our Town is where they want to spend it.
There should be someone employed (for a real term not short-term) to work on a whole range of projects and initiatives to make the Town cleaner, brighter and more welcoming to visitors, cruise passengers and residents alike.
I have tried for two Chambers of Commerce, but neither are really interested in the Town or it's welfare and progress, just the value their membership brings them.
They also both suffered from a lack of financial support from the main stake-holders - DTC, DDC and DHB.
Whether it is me (not likely anymore) or someone else, all the millions being invested in various regeneration projects, won't make a difference to the town if nothing is done.
