The High meadows,Lovely views and very popular with dog walkers.Beware if walking that way.Its now becoming a risky area due to the druggies moving in.Considering the amount of people using the area, dog walkers, kids going to and from school etc, very little if anything seems to have been done about the problem.Community warden and Old Bill dont seem to be getting to grips with the problem. They seem to just occasionaly have a quite word with them and little else.Used needles are often found around the area.Paths leading from rear of Buckland hospital, rear of Prospect place(allotment track)and Shooters hill pathway and track from Widred rd up to the Meadows seem to be the worst areas.BEWARE!

oh dear we seem to be going back to when the police said they had no jurisdiction over lifestyle choice.
in the last 6 months great efforts have been made to make the town centre people friendly, the new commander was true to his word and we see more boys/girls in blue than ever before with great effect.
hopefully this will rub off in places immediately outside.

Popular place up there about six months ago when I gave up dog walking was the new steps that WCCP put in two or three years ago. I'm glad I don't go that way any more.

A shame to say things dont seem to have improved,if anything the problem is getting worse.Only this morning there was a few different groups, this time making there way from the meadows to the hills at the rear of the boys grammer school, clutching their cans and bottles of white lightning.I had to warn a lady walking her dog not to go that way.All in authority seem to talk a good job but little else.I dont think they will ever get to grips with this problem. It just shifts from one part of town to another.I also noticed just the other day that they seem to be getting into the market square again and other parts of the town,as mentioned here on another topic.

The situation was much worse today, wish other forum members had seen it for themselves to see i,m not exagerating.I,ve walked these hills regularly for the past 25years and have never seen things as bad as they are now.Sad to say but i would now consider this area an unsafe place to walk.

It is intimidating where these street drinkers congregate and certainly must be more so in exposed places, how on earth you deal with the problem I do not know, obviously the threat of having their drink seized has forced them out of built up areas, what next?

i doubt that the police would be interested as they are far from the town centre.
