  Damned fool the man. There are some, unbelievably, who consider this oaf Prime Ministerial material. Well I suppose he showed us all the requisite qualifications for the job - Self-serving publicist dangling in mid air similar to the footage from some Jeremy Beedle video programme, promising the Earth but failing to deliver. Railing against environmentalism in his early career before using the issue to pinch as many votes from the more gullible section of the electorate. Telling us all that the Olympics is the best thing that has happened to Britain for decades knowing that it's our grandchildren who will foot the bill for this useless unsporting circus.
  Yes, definitely Prime Ministerial material, our Boris.

  What I found funny was not his getting stuck, that was clearly a problem with the rigging, but that he was wearing that stupid crash hat. Bonkers over-the-top health and safety. I have done zip-lines many a time and they are great fun but there is no way I would wear such a pointless and stupid crash hat.

  To almost everyone else this would have been a disastrous image. The dangling man. Can you imagine Prime Minister Cameron dangling like that...his PR staff would be catatonic with apoplepsy, if thats not a contradiction in terms. But somehow Boris comes out of it all in PR heaven. Everyone loves it! It will go viral on the internet because people laugh with him not at him.
  
  Boris cant seem to miss. He never ever loses elections and he could well be leader, even though several years ago it was thought impossible. As BarryW points out in his blog he is not even an MP, and would need to be before a leadership challenge, but he would certainly win almost any seat, particularly of course a safe seat, once his mayoral reign is over.
  
  

  

  
  
  The picture shows him looking a little tired while fighting the last mayoral election against Ken Livingstone. But following his basking PR glow in the riots aftermath, and his capitalisation on all things Olympian, his bandwagon rolls ever onward.. he would be difficult to stop or beat.
  
  The other question is...who could the Labour Party put up to challenge him.

  What a hoot! it's the sort of thing that only Boris can get away with as it kind of goes with his personality. One could almost think he done it on purpose but of course not. Still most people are laughing with him on this one, not at him, so a win win in Boris's camp
