The 2020 Cruise Season sadly has been blighted due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak worldwide.

Cruise liners across the country have been temporarily laid up. The two SAGA boats -'Saga Sapphire' and 'Spirit of Discovery' (normally Dover based) are alongside at Tibury Dock. Fred Olsen's liners 'Boudicca' (another Dover regular) and the 'Black Watch' are anchored off Leith and as I post the Balmoral is in the North Sea in that vicinity.

P&O Cruises 'Oceana' and 'Aurora' are both laid up in Dover. Whilst it is good to see these large liners gracing our port it cannot be denied that the reason for their extended visit is a sorry result of the present situation. I understand both crews have isolated themselves on board to protect both themselves and the people of Dover. Their normal suppliers are delivering to the ships so not taking food etc out of our town. We wish everybody on board well during their enforced extended stay.

    'OCEANA' (arrived on 19 March)

followed by the 'AURORA' a day or so later
'OCEANA' and 'AURORA' berthed at Western Docks Cruise Terminals (taken 23 March)
