    Stock up on Christmas gifts early??

    If I see something when on holiday, or locally, during the year, which would be ideal for a gift, I put it away.
    When Christmas comes I usually have a supply of things which I can give friends and family.
    Also I try to make things people will like and use, which usually include Christmas cakes, biscuits, jams, chutneys, made nearer the time, in batches.
    And keep in stock several bottles of wine for emergency gifts or raffle prizes.
    These days chocolates are a non-starter with several friends who watch their weight or cholesterol... fruit is good...
