They've kept that quiet, for us we currently only get deliveries 3 or 4 days a week and often not until gone 4 pm, abysmal service...

Each time they put the cost of stamps up less of the public post ,there are so many other ways to do it now ,but I post because it is keeping some one in work.

I rarely use the postal system nowadays what with free E mail that gets instant delivery and the ever rising cost of stamps. Used to be that a letter sent anywhere in the EU cost the same as a first class stamp in the UK. Before Christmas I sent a card to France that cost about £. 1. 40.

Email also means you get a quicker reply when dealing with a business.

And you have a record of it having been delivered.

Most utility businesses and large companies send an automated response to e mails which means they can't claim not to have received a letter or remember a phone call.
The postal service has gone seriously downhill with most people complaining of late delivery times. The Royal Mail made a grand announcement some years back that businesses would get their post before householders. Fine if businesses all operated from industrial estates but in modern Britain many people work from home or have a business in an otherwise residential street. How does Pencester Road work for example with businesses on the ground floor and flats above?

Royal Mail

Royal Snail
Shut a good Mail centre in Canterbury where if you posted a letter in Dover to be delivered in Dover you would get it next Day. Now they send it all to Medway where it sits and you may get it a couple of days later if you are lucky

And on top it all it is the size of a small letter to the size of a large one.
Most cards are the large size the stamp in some cases is more then the card now when going first class.
