Simon Hood asked a question. Something close to the actual title of this thread.
An interesting proposition, for some.
He has admitted to having the ambition to join the merry throng of local councillors, a job I know many here have had in the past and some who are at it still. So, if the question were to be;
"Wither the continuation of local politics?"
Is there such a thing that can be said to be a continuation of what went before? What does the future hold?
[The question that springs to mind and that I will not ask is, Why?!]
The mist is clearing in my crystal ball and the picture that is emerging bears little resemblance to the idea of 'Local Politics' we know today. Gleefully, I notice the lack of Party affiliation and the absence of conflict with and/or slavish devotion to Parliamentary Party-Politics (if indeed party politics remains in Westminster). Perhaps LP shall develop along the lines of what is done State-side;whole town or area forum-debates and votes pro or con. Alas, Simon there seems little scope for anyone rising above their neighbours to act on behalf of an electorate, but there will, no doubt, still be go-to types who may be relied upon to do a lot of the talking....the mists are rolling in again.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

A large chorus rose from the crowds:
"We have had enough!"
The Government said:
"Don't tell us what to do!"
The crowds retorted:
"We voted you".
The Government:
So now shut-up!"
poor simon

a few notes to help him, if your face isnt liked you wont get in, if you are to out going you wont be liked, if you have your own opinions you wont be liked, ive been there and got the t shirt but now you made it public knowledge they will all want a piece of you beware.
