The cats are the boss
- 20 March 2016 09:21312151We have now two cats that come in they are not ours but one has made our home his home and been with us for well over two years.Now we have his mate coming in that has been for about a year now and they run the home ,they sleep on the chairs and will not move off when we want to sit there,
We feed both of them and that cost is a fair amount by the end of each month.I brush them in the garden each morning their coats are nice now and they love it each morning waiting for to go out to feed the birds and put the rubbish in the bins ,they know then it is their turn.
But I love cats .
When I fall a sleep in the chair I wake up always one on my lap. - 20 March 2016 12:08312157My one moved in from next door about a month after I moved here in 2002 but in recent years only comes in the house for food or if I have visitors. She much prefers to be on someone's lean to, fence, trampoline, shed etc where a wary eye can be kept on others trying to get into the 4 gardens considered her territory. despite being tiny she frightens the life out of other cats and some small dogs.
- 20 March 2016 12:52312162The owner of the cats is my neighbour and sometimes I have to feed them but usually they are in Vics .I think my neighbour is getting a cat flap fixed so hopefully cats will go to their rightful home.They spend a lot of time in my garden.
- 20 March 2016 14:42312163Cats tend to go where they fancy, I haven't got a cat flap so mine just stands bolt upright on the window sill to let me know when she wants to come in. the reason she picked my home was that where she lived was a female boxer dog with no pups that decided when a cat litter arrived they were hers and used to wash them before putting them in a basket at bed time.
Mine was the only one to object much to the dog's annoyance. - Andy B

20 March 2016 17:45312166We,ve always had a cat,I inherited my late fathers cat 4 years ago which we still have.He is about 18 years old now and apart from losing sight in one eye he is great for his age and very active. - 20 March 2016 18:22312169I was brought with a cat or two a budgie and 3 tortoises and have spent most of my adult life with either a cat or a dog. Would seem strange without an animal with their different personalities. The cat used to drive me up the wall when she was young and bringing half dead birds home and trying to catch frogs but now her speed has gone and the garden has plenty of winged visitors, some even eat off the ground near her.
- 21 March 2016 07:03312186We have an electric fence around our garden above our secure wooden fence to keep foxes away from the hens and that is highly effective at keeping cats out as well. Before I erected the fence we were plagued with cats leaving delightful little packages in the flower beds and killing sparrows.I'm an optimist.
