  People will go to their nearest A & E if they can't get into see their Doctor as soon as they feel they want to and many practices are not patient-friendly.

  Maybe every hospital could have a GP practice that has an all day surgery adjacent to the A & E department.

  That is an excellent idea Jan, the community hospital in Farnham has just such a surgery except (doh!) it's only open fron 9 to 5 and outside those hours patients have to go to Frimley.
