  Ha! Yes indeed Howard. "I'm from the Government and I'm here to help" springs to mind.
  It has to be said that only a moron would find any, and I do mean any, of Osbourne's ideas yesterday made any sense. Only the diehard blue rinse brigade (and they make up the grass roots of the tory right) believe that any single budget move made sense.
  There was not one single thing that one could say would lead to growth.
  The tories are banking on a housing boom and have created a public bank Lenin himself would have been proud of which will not only lead to house price inflation but once interest rates go up will lead to mass default.
  No announcement to at least try an export led growth strategy.
  Who would have thought Neil Kinnock was leading the tories eh?
  Oh and most importantly no push to replace the power stations which will close at the end of the month. Only a pipe dream nuclear power station which is unlikely to be built.
  If it is it will be even worse value for money than any wind farm built up until now.
