    They, of course, argue about the risk of inncoent people being executed instead. With modern DNA etc and by restricting the death penalty to only the worse cases any risk of this is minimised.

    By contrast, murder has boomed since the death penalty was abolished, how many of those murdered were innocent people who might otherwise still live if we had the death penalty? A lot more than innocents hanged, I bet.

    Harry - I think I am right that the death penalty for treason was also abolished more recently. sadly.
