This whole case is an utter scam from A to Z.
Firstly, the idea that you can earn £100 a week and still get full benefits is tosh.
You cannot earn the equivalent to JSA and still receive JSA.
Jobseekers allowance is now £70 a week, so I heard. So if you earned at least £70 a week, you would automatically sign off and would not receive a penny of JSA.
If you earn less that the full JSA (£70 a week), then your weekly jobseekers allowance is reduced, and you could get, say, £40 or £45 a week, depending how much you are earning.
Barry, I have noticed in the past too that your knowledge on JSA and benefits in general is wanting. You are NOT an expert in this matter, and should refrain from unseemly comments on things you quite clearly do not understand.
This also includes the unhappy definition of "living the life of Riley" on benefits.
It is only possible to live the life of Riley on housing benefits if you live in London, where housing benefits are calculated on local rent, and declare you live in a room by yourself, receive hundreds of pounds a week housing benefit, but then share your room with someone else who does the same thing.
Then you can pocket £100 or so every week on housing benefit, as NO-ONE goes and controls. Those who give out the welfare cheques take every Tom, Dick and Singh by their word.
Boris the Morris who wants to be reelected Mayor of London probably is responsible for our Country losing many billions a year on housing benefit scams. That is the area where you should be directing your investigations. Where people live 20 to three rooms, all on housing benefit, or in the garden shed, while receiving hundreds of pounds a week housing benefit.
As for JSA, NO-ONE can live the life of Riley on that.
