Come under fire a lot in recent years with many politicians wanting to slash the licence fee or even abolish the service. I watch very little television but would say out of all the channels I watch BBC the most and on Freeview the best programmes seem to be old BBC ones. The only objection I have is that they pay out for "star performers" and put out entertainment aimed at the ratings when that should be left to other broadcasters.
In my view this is where they get it wrong and give ammunition to their enemies, paying a presenter a small fortune for a late night football highlights programme.
I think the above post has got it about right like seeing the football but not all the talking that goes with it ,we watch the same match as they do then after each match we have to sit there watching them talk all about each match WHY.?
