i heard a rumour that they had david, after reading your post i rang their number and got no reply.
they are normally open from noon on a tuesday.

i have never heard anyone complain about the food or service there, maybe footfall has been a problem although i have been past on a sunday a few times and it was always busy.

I have been away from the forum for some weeks haveing spent nine weeks in hospital and am home now , recoverying from a major operation. This said it means that I am well out of touch with things locally so escuse if I ask - is the Arlington closed?
Any ideas on when, why and what happens next? Dover seems to loose it's eaterys all to often, unless it's a takeaway.

Thanks for all your nice welcome back comments, Alec, it will be a while yet before I get into the Bells as I am recieving treatment at home. For those of you with an interest in diets, you could try this - get a leaking abcess on your gall bladder and follow that with 9 weeks of hospital food - the result? 3 stones gone! ALmost as good a the Lagavulin diet I tried, I drank nothing but the 16year old single malt and lost just under 3 weeks!

staggers me that they dish out rubbish food to people trying to recover from illness, must make the medics job even harder.

I hope you get better soon Phil, as for your drastic weight loss if you are like others I have known the weight goes back on all to quickly when you get back to normal.

Yes Welcome back Phil.
Can someone tell me something? When I moved to Dover back in 1982 someone told me that there was a big snake in The Arlington that used to lay across behind the bar under the lights.. Was this true or just a story? Being terrified of anything with no legs from a maggot to a python it used to give me the creeps going past it
Anyone know?
