You must have all seen the stories about tv presenter Caroline Flack and her boyfriend Harry from the group One Direction. Just wondered what you all think about age gap relationships. She is 32 and he is 17.
My first husband was 12 years older than me and sadly died from a heart attack at 50. I remarried a man 6 years younger than me and he is now 60. Both marriages have been happy even though in theory my first husband was old enough to be my present husbands father! Also my two husbands were friends with each other so age didn't matter to an all male friendship either.
Personally I think age is just a number but would be interested in what you all think.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

it's alright for you john, lose one woman you have spares lying around.
the rest of us are stuck.
getting back to jacqui's question, 32 and 17 seems a bit off.
the same gap if it was 40 and 25 would be very different as both are old enough to know what they want.
there is more to a successful relationship than parity of ages.

I once dated a man who was 10 years younger than me, in some ways it was like looking after a child

. Ironically people thought he acted older than me as he never wanted to be out 'too late' the music was 'too loud' etc etc. I ended the relationship as he was jealous and possessive, I could even talk to the 80-year-old caretaker without him thinking I was up to something!

My Old Man was my toy boy 32 years ago, and he is still my toy boy. Like most well loved toys though, his paint has flaked a bit and some of the parts no longer work. All the best bits are still going strong though. The cooking and cleaning muscles I mean, of course......

My grandad was 24 years older than my grandmother when they married, which didn't prevent her from having 11 children from him

I did hear from Fry & QI that the 'ideal' age differential between M & F was, a half plus seven years.
So;
14:14
20:17
30:22
40:27 etc.
I'm just saying, is all.

So the ideal partner for a lady of 55 would therefore be......96!!!!!

My wife and I are both 58. So I should try to fix her up with a rich old guy of 102 while I look around for a 36-year-old?
