went into town this morning only to find that both lanes of the a 20 where at a standstill.what would normanly takes 5 minuets from aycliffe to town center, today it took 25 minuts.rumor has it that 3 p&o ferries where out of service last night including the sprit of britain.as per normal there where no police on the roundabouts bloking town traffic.at one point it was backed upto samphire hoe,but eased down to the limekiln roundabout.
somthing has to be done to stop this happaning again, either kcc, police, dhb or all 3.
yours disgruntald me.

Last night, with both lanes of the roundabout blocked, the last bus had to continue up the A20 to the Capel roundabout, come back down the Folkestone Road, through the town (again) and then over Military Road in order to gain access to the estate. The only police presence was on the York Street roundabout and they were doing very little to keep it clear.
Had an emergency vehicle been required there would probably have been a lot of people looking to see which of the services should be sued. As Brian has said, this is a totally unacceptable situation and one which all the various police and highways departments keep ignoring or blaming each other for.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

According to Dover Ferry Photos forum, the Spirit of Britain went off service on 28th PM in Calais with a CPP (controllable pitch propeller) problem, and resumed service this morning.

Just got back from the B&Q. Made the mistake of coming back down Jubilee Way. There was a small gap turning right into York Street until a bus tried to do it. Only other option was Court Wood. As of 11.55 the traffic tailed back to Samphire Ho.

ps Only 2 toytown police at the docks, not a sign of Kent.
