Anyone who watches televison regularly will be sick to death by now of that cherubic opera singer who belts out in every tedious advert
go compare
go compare
da da dah daha dah
go compare
Jeeeez its like electronic torture for the masses. Well..you would think people would be sick of him and his voice by now...but no it seems.
The guy released an album last week and it has rocketed to Numero Uno in the classic album charts. I just dont get it. Having to endure torture forced upon you is one thing, but going out and buying more torture is clearly another. The British Public have gone barking mad. It must be a kind of self flagellation.
Dont tell me...I bet there are some guys on here that like it!!

. as an aside i would love to know how these websites who are constantly advertising on TV get their funding!!?? How do they do it???

He is a very good singer and yes I will be going out and buying the album ,he has been singing for many years,in the Royal Opera house and around the world, most good Opera singers you never hear about unless you follow Opera.
I wont be buying it the mans a pleb and what a lame way to start his career doing the no 1 most annoying advert.

He is well respected as a singer in certain circles.
Although I find the adverts a pain, you cannot fault the brilliance of the idea, I mean we are talking of it here and it gets under your skin, so you remember the sponsors message and name subliminally.
Even more annoying are the Direct Line ones and Churchill, it was reported that a certain age of school children, when asked about a certain famous Prime Minister....thought he sells car insurance, now that's the power of advertising.
Annoying it may be, but it works, despite it being 30 years ago I can still hear ringing in my head the classics!... 'Softness is a thing called Comfort' and 'When hands that do dishes' etc.
Goan!
Oh Boy!, That'll be the day.........

I definitely agree that annoying adverts are easily remembered and it's a great advertising ploy. What is it that they say about all publicity is good publicity?! I find the Churchill one especially annoying too, ditto the shouting man on the double glazing ad, Cheryl Cole on the hair colour ad, the Koala bear toilet roll ad, the 'Juan sheet' kitchen roll ad but see - I remember what they are all advertising!!
Another thing is the background music, how many adverts have produced great hits? Levis, Lynx, Coke, Nike etc etc.....

Is that right Howard..well I never. Thats a large cake. Wish we could get a bit more of a slice of it on here. Sigh!

The funds all go back into keeping it running and providing this as a community information and chat service. Still, maybe better days ahead..
On a cheerier note, viewing figures are great in case any advertiser is watching. counters at the top of all pages.
