Thanks Jan
and thanks Howard too.
Glad you still take a look at the old doverforum.com frontpage. We have made some changes to it to modernise it up a bit very recently and are looking at the possibility of some more changes, Chris took a few things out and we changed the ad size to match up with the rest of the site. The same size ads fit the entire site now. That old page, I change the pictures once or twice a week, still has a high profile presence on Google so a good position to flag up Dover.. and a good position for adverts as well, and each ad is seen throughout the entire merged site as well now.
But re the picture..Yes I spotted that while lingering by the stream at Morrisons. i figured if we shot just the centre bit it would look village like..and indeed it did. Like a town in the Cotswolds or somewhere..not that Ive ever been to the Cotswolds!
Gorgeous greens can be seen everywhere right now.
But the camera I used ( a little Hewlett Packard) expired for the last time a few hours later. its electronics had gone a bit haywire so i gave it a few thumps with the heel of my hand to see if it would sort it out...it did but not in the way imagined..its now kaput well and truly. The old time adage of hitting the problem with a hammer doesnt work anymore...sigh
So by way of an obituary I will show a couple of its better pictures from previous times .
These are from 2010 and 2011 as i remember and feature The Heron. Now if you were going out to photograph a heron the last camera you would take with you was the little Hewlett Packard..but when you have one in your pocket and the heron suddenly appears before your very eyes then you make the best of it. That heron sure made the walk to M&S more interesting...
....find him in both pictures.
Early morning above with an early winter sun hitting the park..and one more below for a different season
End of the Hewlett Packard camera..
