Thanet Council changed hands yesterday, from the Tory plus Indy group to Labour as the Indies changed side and joined Labour. The result in May I believe was equal amount of Cllrs for Conservative and Labour with the 4 Indies holding the balance of power.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

i have been following the shenanigans there, a lot of egos put out of joint.
i hope they settle their differences quickly so that all the regeneration plans for the area are not stifled.

i doubt that the political colours of the leader will make any difference.
the previous blue administration showed a complete contempt to democracy, making decisions without any consultation despite only having a one seat majority.
hopefully things will now take a turn for the better.

It will all depend on whether the Independents allow it Howard.
They hold the reins & KCC the money which keep Thanet projects afloat.

let's hope they do paul, all eyes are on the area.
the turner gallery is an attempt to revitalise the area and the likely rejuvenation of the old roller coaster area means that heads must get together, forget about party political drivel and work to a common cause.
dover and folkestone have their own redevelopment plans, all in east kent can benefit from each other.

i wondered how long it would take you to bring that one up reg.
unlikely ever to happen, too many people like being councillors and too many officers would lose their jobs.
shared services where it works is the way forward.
