Awful, truly awful. If only we could spend billions of pounds more to combat this terrible affliction which will kill us all.........Oh hang on we are.

Yes Philip, the article clearly shows that Scotland experienced only a slightly higher rainfall than usual, whereas Wales and England up to the Wall had devastating floods.
This is because of the climate policies of these three countries: Scotland pursues a nature friendly climate policy, while England and Wales are following a catastrophic road, including nuclear power stations, more and more road traffic, urbanisation on Greenbelt areas never-ending and so on.
As can be seen, the policies chosen by England and Wales resulted in disastrous floods.

What a load of twaddle Alexander; I can't believe you put that.
Have you heard of the Jet-Stream ?

Of course given the models for climate effects on the Gulf Stream, causing less warming of the British Isles resulting in longer cold spells and more extremes of weather (rainfall, high winds etc), we would not want to see any of that now, would we?

We've been seeing it since 1998, unfortunately politicians haven't caught up with the facts yet.

I haven't noticed any extreme weather over the past few decades. Someone please enlighten me as to these extreme events. I suspect that even if the weather did nothing more than it's usual stuff the warmist wierdos would still cite this as proof of global warming.
Some people will believe in anything no matter how stupid.

Conversely, some people are so resistant to change they will deny anything.

Yes that's what all the warmists say but they never come up with any proof. It's all computer projections and might this and maybe that. There is no proof whatsoever and yet otherwise sensible people still fall for it.
It's got alot to do with environmentalism replacing socialism as something to follow and says alot for the human condition.
So, proof please otherwise join my side and enjoy the weather.

Of course you can also find as many denial sites, the major oil companies have some good ones, so if you don't want to believe it you don't have to. You can also find a couple of very good sites explaining why the world is flat.

.......major oil companies, lol. Like, hey dude, the oil companies are controlling the world maan and they're all lizards and stuff and we're all gonna die right?
There's a multitude of these websites run by little people who would otherwise be seen on marches protesting against "the man".
Odd little folk who believe anything they are told which mentions the end of the world. Rather sad really. What's worse is that this hysteria has spread into the wider population like a virus. It will take another generation to rid ourselves of the lies.
Lie number one:
The polar bear is endangered. Believe that and you will believe anything. The polar bear population has increased five-fold since the 1950's. I mention that because that silly site you linked has one on it's homepage.
Lie number two:
The second silly website you linked has a picture of flooding on it's front page. Nothing to do with silly notions of climate change more to do with poor planning by local authorities building on flood plains. Sea levels dropped this year according to NASA.
Lie number three:
As the the national geographic link, where to start eh? Stupidity from beginning to end. Merely statement of non-facts with no data to prove.
Keep 'em coming it's quite entertaining.

P, also according to NASA, sea levels are rising on the East coast of America three times faster than elsewhere. But you have fun linking global warming, the Smurfs and all your favourite nursery rhymes while staying just as you are, some of us are still open to the possibility of change.

It wasn't NASA who suggested that the Eastern Seaboard sea levels were rising. That "research" has been debunked. Isostatic bounce, subduction, etc. etc.
Next example please. Form an orderly queue please.

Of course it could all just be a natural climate cycle, coincidently that is exactly what the Ancient Mayan's really believed.

I believe that any effect on climate change caused by man is minimal.
There have been 8 previous ice-ages, that we have had no influence on and although we have been using fossil fuel in ever-increasing amounts over the last couple of hundred years or so, I do not believe that man is to blame for global warming.
We are to blame for pursuing a false claim resulting in serious rises in tax-hikes, that we - teh common man, can ill afford.
Conserve our stocks by all means, but don't screw us with false claims.

Just think, if we spend all that money creating a cleaner environment, a better world and better ways of producing sustainable energy then find out it was wrong; all those improvements for nothing.

getting a bit concerned for philip, started this thread with a link from the marxist, eco warrior loving "independent".
off at a tangent but read yesterday that australia has brought in a carbon tax on businesses as they are responsible for more emissions than anyone else in the developed world per head of population.
