  River Post Office will close temporarily on 25th July We shall miss Jim after 30 years.We don't know what services will be provided in future.A Post 'Office Service of a kind?.

  Post office counters will decide whether there is enough business to keep it going in its present form or offer a limited hours service which looks likely in Aycliffe.
  
  Incidentally I was in the Pencester road one today for the first time in ages, always used to have 4 or more counters going with long queues. Today there was only one member of staff and 4 customers waiting to be served.

  Whitfield P.O. is always busy, can't see that being closed. Four lovely ladies providing a very good service.

  post office counter has gone at aycliffe,replaced by cash machine and pay point system,for paying bills etc.the nearest full post office is pencester.
