A country cant be too poor if the average citizen from one of its poorer regions..Sicily, spends 25,000 Euro on the average wedding. Crikey! they must intend only to do it the once!! I suppose thats the general idea what with them being Catholic weddings.
Now the long arm of the taxman is coming to call but doesnt it just go to show the huge cultural differences between the various countries in the EU... makes it interesting though.
But nobody spends that much here on yer average wedding..or do they??

the southern parts of italy including sicily suck up government and european money, while the north complains that they are doing all the work and footing the bill for the south.
probably jenni would be the one to answer the question of money spent on weddings nowadays.
