Hezza `Tarzan` Hesiltine`s report for a series of radical proposals for Economic Growth...particularly fo Regions ....at the
request of the Chancellor of the Exchequer....will be uncomfortable reading for both Cameron and Osborne.
Among many proposals it accuses dithering Dave of dithering on the airport in order to avoid another embarrassing `U` turn
saying a decision must be made in 2013 ...not after the GE in 2015.
He proposes a shake up of the remaining 200 District Councils to be ``MERGED``into Unitary Councils
In East Kent it is ludicrous financial insanity to have four District Councils costing many millions of pounds whilst in an
Austerity period which will last for years.......he says Unitaries should be given more power and paid more to cover larger areas
to attract better candidates.........with a `Tarzan`business style of cutting the crap and hitting the problem head on East
Kent will be a dynamic place for business instead of limping along year after year ................without toilets !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His report highlights many policies where dithering Dave must be ``pretty smartish`` to avoid risking business investment by
failing to set clear policies.Businesses that want to invest in Britain need to have confidence in Government.

PaulW said this a few days ago - that Tarzan agrees with you Reg. Not everyone else does though.
There may be an element of cost saving, but what will the other cost be, in loss of income tax and NI contributions ? Then there's benefit payments too; balancing one with the other, there may well be very little in terms of actual savings.
There's also the social cost and the fact that all those people who will lose their job, will not have money (enough) to spend, so our local businesses suffer too and an ever-increasing downward spiral starts.

But you have ignored all of the arguments against it Reg. This will not be good for the people of East Kent.

It's keeping more people employed Keith and there IS local representation and don't forget that services would undoubtedly suffer.

# 8......Heseltine is my kind of businessman anyone talking/acting the same way will get my support.
It will save millions, please don`t ask me again how much,.....it is a mammoth job, just look at the logistics.........
It is the effect/ momentum an East Kent united being a power force instead of our tired, out of date, lack of imagination and drive
District Council`s, not so, gently slipping into oblivion

East Kent consolidated has tremendous potential,if harnessed,...a divided East Kent has no chance....we could be a very
successful part of the UK....Europe whether we like it or not is on our door step etc etc etc
