    Bern, I couldn't quite get your point there, about bending over backwards to kiss a culture goodbye.
    Are you referring to us British, including yourself, or to yourself as incoming? It so happens that I never considered the Irish as different or as not British, nor as incoming, and certainly do not know of the Irish ever having to kiss goodbye an Irish culture in Britain. I have had various Irish teachers at school, but they all considered themselves as us, and we consediered them as a part of us.
    Unless I misread your post, you could explain a bit there, as I am quite perplexed here.
    Also, I think I asked you a month or so back on the Forum if you knew where I can get Irish bagpipe muic.
    So there yoy go, here's one who's interested in Irish culture!
