  Multiculturalism only started to go wrong when the host nation became wusses. When the incoming and the host understood and respected their positions it was clear, calm and easier to manage. And that isn't racist - I talk from the point of view of an incoming!!! It was when we were all expected to bend over backwards and kiss our culture goodbye that the problems really started - there will always be pockets of the disaffected, British as well as from other cultures, races and ethnicities, but only when that is tolerated will it boil over and scald our toes.
