seem to be hundreds left over looking for good homes, kcc paid for them - surely they could be used elsewhere in the county?

I'm trying to get my marbles around where that is Howard, I know the approximate area, but well done for wheedling out these stories, a great find. Sadly nobody loves these bins Carole. Imagine stacking them all there though, they are an unloved eyesore no matter where you put them.

land adjacent to the castle pub paul.
the landlord there as thoughtful as ever has put some chairs out so people can rest and take in the natural beauty of the bins.

The back of the pub is more unsightly than the bins!

seeing that there is loads of bins there some of my niegbours could do with a few more, with the amount of bagged rubbish they put every fortnight.

I wonder how much of our council tax money has been wasted with all those excess to requirement bins, possibly the amount a proper assessment of how many would be needed in the first place.

alternatively they could send them to the old dover hotel, the former boston guest house and amsterdam house all in the folkestone road.
despite all the industrial size waste containers they still need more bins to fill.

From what I've seen today, you could be right Howard. I wouldn't be surprised if there are many more people living in these premises than they are licenced for.

The old bus depot, which they pulled down first so that the bins could fill up with all the rain water. Good thinking that but a pitty no plants to use the saved water on.
oops for got we need a summer first.

Couldn't agree more Jan. They certainly didn't "assess" accurately around here. I too would like to know the cost of the ill-thought out scheme.

Roger#10, more than likely one family per room not per unit. A couple of years ago I was told there was a house in Wood Street that had at least two families in there.

Some of these HMOs in Folkestone Road I believe, have 5 or more families in there, but I don't know how many they are registered for; if they make appointments to visit them, it will all be in order when they call - they need spot checks and the authority to fine the landlords - heavily.

We were convinced the one I mentioned was being sub let by the tenant going by the very large sum of money he always had in his wallet so it is not always the landlord to blame.
Social Services would not give warning of a call if benefit fraud is involved, bring on the spot checks.

Strolled through the area this morning returning from my excursion to M&S and was shocked to see just how many bins there are in the place. They were fairly well hidden, so a great spot by Howard coming across it all.
