PaulB, when I think of how many jobs I applied for, some of which I really expected to get, and never even got a reply, I ask myself!

That with: so many jobs going that British people won't take, might be a fac-simile template in common use with many private sector employers, who obviously need an excuse for their decisions to employ only foreign people aged 20-29.

I've tried all the local ones out, made applications to them, from Folkestone to Seven Oaks, and knew full well beforehand that they wouldn't dream of ever employing me.
The job-centre also knew this, and never bothered asking further.

At the job-centre, they know all to well that us lot ain't got a chance in those factories. They also knew that signing on at agencies was just a joke. For us lot, that is.

That's why they sent me on IT courses, and helped me into self-employment painting and decorating.

At one point, before I started the courses, the job-centre even made an offer, from the State, that whoever would employ me would get 1000 quid from the State. I posted this on my covering letters, and the employers in all these kentish salad factories, of whom only the label on the plastic salad bag is British, probably slipped off their chair laughing!

    Ha ha!
