Super moon and lunar eclipse.

  On Sunday night/Monday morning there will be a total lunar eclipse between 0311 and 0423. At the same time there will be a 'super moon' effect as the moon is at its closest to Earth. The moon is also likely to turn red just before and after the eclipse and remain a dim red colour during it. Might be worth a watch.

  Yes indeed could be a fascinating time for skywatchers...

  Have some pictures with moon over the ships too will check out if they are any good later and if any good put them on the Sea News pages in due course. In the meantime anyone planning to stay up and watch will need a pot of strong coffee - and not that caffeine free stuff either.

  That's it, off to bed now after watching the eclipse. Not as spectacular as I thought it was going to be but worth watching. I thought the clouds were going to spoil it but they blew over.

  Yes I am also out there right now with my mate Mark been up all night moon is now got its cover on so waiting to see it go back ,Great to watch and a clear night . Just got my wife up to see it to .
