I remember Ray. He was a miserable sod.
His real name was Ray Pigeon, Langabeer was an old family name that he adopted as a nom de plume.

I can remember reading all the fuss about the demolition in the Dover Express.

I remember it well. It took me a while to place the photo. That is the old Aycliffe road with the sea on the left. Quite a lot was demolished when the new A 20 was built.
