is it the sound of the first cuckoo, the tulips reaching their peak, lawmowers playing a symphony?
alternatively, here in priory we have the sounds of children playing in the alleyways after dark.
just been out to see what the cacophony of noise was, and i discover around 30 or so younger people, aged between approx 5 years and 25 years running amok, climbing over cars, into gardens and generally making a very loud noise.
i told them that they would have more fun in kearnsey abbey gardens admiring the daffodils, i fear that it fell on deaf ears though.

AH well there you go Howard, we have OFFICIAL bodies to look after that sort of thing, IF you wait long enough they will come along. Under an umbrella so to speak.
Does it ring a bell?

Poor Howard, it must be rotten for you. Tell you what annoys me - BBQs! Not so bad if you live in a big house with a big garden but where I live the houses back onto each other by gardens. Time and time again I've put a line of washing out and gone off for the day only to find my washing smelling of BBQ smoke when I get back! Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge anyone having fun and I spose it's my own fault for leaving it out but it's so annoying!!
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Pity they did not attend the Community Centre, we have that new PACE in place round there now, the PCSO was rounding them up earlier this evening

My neighbours burglar alarm went off yesterday afternoon so I went around and checked it out. I couldn't see anything and had a good look around the house, so went back and called the police. They took my details, their details, the details of the dogs passing the house, the inside leg measurement of the fella across the way, the shoe size of someone in the next village and then didn't bother to come out. The man I spoke with said that if I couldn't see anything it was probably ok, but that he would pass the info to any patrol cars local and they might drop in, but it was their call to prioritise. They didn't. These must be the samepolice that failed to halt the open air drug dealing festival that took place within a few yards of several schools, outside my house and on my street corner, in broad daylight all day every day by recognised people whose car registration numbers, mobile phone details, home addresses, names and days and times of activities were regularly and frequently passed to the police for two years before any arrests were made, and then the arrests were bungled as they called when the dealer was out, and she then said that as she as out the police could not prove that someone else had not placed the drugs in her flat in her absence, as her defence. I am just mentioning it.

Another sign of spring are the seagulls. While walking the dog I could not help but notice an increase in their activities among the bin bags left out for collection.....
I know they can be a bit of a pain (I was christened again the other week walking through town!!)but I still get a real buzz from waking up to the sound of seagulls. Living near the sea is such a pleasure and they are a reminder of that. I like them!!! My husband, however, would happily shoot the lot!

I'm with your hubby on that one Bern...
Have you not noticed that when the seagulls are not squarwking in the morning, you hear the songbirds instead (even her in the middle of town), much preferable.

PACE, is Pathways Accreditation Continuous Education, it started at the Centre on the 8th, they are hoping to run 2 nights a week, it does well over Tower Hamlets, and a lot of our people go over there, ours run on differant evenings to them, so hoping ours come back over here and encourage more to come along, it provides somewhere for all age groups to go and learn to mix and work together in sport, music, dance and arts

Agree with you there Bern, I love the sound of seagulls but I could never get over the fact that when our office was based in Ashford's 'Old Town Gaol' in Middle Street (not locked up though), it was a roosting place for seagulls from all around, couldn't understand though as the sea was miles away

Noticed the bags all split open round Williams Towers as I cycled past the BIG houses on my way to Work, why do people just leave black sacks out with waste food in them.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!
