The post you are reporting:
The photographs were taken at 9am this morning so probably a bit early for most to be on the beach. I can assure you there are plenty of people there now!
My advice for a family and two children visiting Dover would be (in no particular order) Dover Castle, Dover museum, Dover transport museum, Kearnsey Abbey, Russell Gardens, Bushy Ruff, Connaught Park, Dover beach, Langdon Cliffs, Western Heights. In addition to the hotel bars, there is Cullins Yard and the Hythe Bay Fish Restaurant which has a bar with wonderful views across the harbour.
I'm just thinking town here - the wider district has even more things to do and places to see if you include Deal, Sandwich and wider East Kent. We have lots to offer but I think the "packaging" has never been quite right. There is certainly a need for more family friendly accommodation and eating places.
Of course, on a lovely summer's day like today you can't beat bring your own - a picinic on the beach. The great thing about Dover beach - no sand in your sandwiches!
