I dont mind paying for good food but my chinese is disgusting tonight, filth. Im finding it harder to find one that does not use cheap products and small portions or portions bloody full of large chopped uncooked onions and peppers!!!!!!!!
I pay for king prawn curry I dont expect a bloody green pepper, mushroom, onion curry with a few prawns hiding amongst it all ARHHHHH.

My pancake roll tastes rancid like a engulfed bunch of slugs and smells it too enough to make me feel sick.

If only everyone could be kind and honest what a better world we would be in.

I find that some takeaways can be good one week then crap the next, deliveries are the worst with some that give the standard 30-40minutes have sometimes taken a good hour n half to arrive only to find once the driver has gone the food is cold and if you ring to complain it could be well past bedtime to get things sorted out.

I rarely get a takeaway. They are so often disappointing. I prefer to cook myself and eat out somewhere nice for a treat once in a while.

A bit off topic, but can thoroughly recommend the Beefeater on Folkestone Road. Economical and darn good food - and has bus stop outside. Way better than TableTable, Duke of York or Rock Rose.

I am always wary of recommending eateries as you never know when the chef is on holiday/sick leave and someone from an agency is called in. I know a family that booked a Christmas day meal at the Plough(Beefeater) and it was appalling.

Quite often the food is quite acceptable but sometimes people expect gourmet food and special service but at an unreasonably low price.
Like Button we have never had a bad meal at that Beefeater. We now always use the Red House (opposite the police station) for a Chinese, fish and chips at the bottom of Tower Hamlets, Namaste (Swingate) for Indian but you have to eat there or collect yourself. I have heard very good reports about the Turkish place near Ladywell but never tried them.

We have eaten at the Beefeater for years including many Christmas days too. Always been good. Last year their prices shot up that made it less competitive with others and then one day we had a meal with hollow over cooked chips. We complained (for the first time ever), were given more chips that were just the same and honestly, the manager (a man in jeans really couldn't have cared less). We have not been there since, never will either. You can get a really good quality sunday roast carvery for example, at the Ramada Hotel for much less, better food and better service (not so slow!) in my view.

Lewis, your post shows how important the staff, especially the management, are with regard to a business's reputation.
