  Why should the NUS leader resign, what was he supposed to do stand at the front and try to stop that mob of idiots all by himself.
  
  At the back of my suspicious mind I could not help but wonder if this lack of policing was a tactical move by the police as a way of showing their displeasure with the cuts. If this is not the case then someone's head should roll because there was bound to be trouble of some kind given all the publicity about the rally.
