  PaulB. Might I presume that the photographs were taken at the Science is Vital protest in Whitehall last month? If so you will be pleased to know my son was also there and might note a couple of points about the demonstration.
  
  It was entirely good natured with no damage at all.
  
  The placards were witty and erudite and not manufactured by the Socialist Worker rent-a-mob (who were notable by their absence).
  
  The demonstration was on a Saturday since real students doing real subjects at real universities are, like most of us, working bloody hard Mon to Fri!
  
  Hopefully, as it almost says in the Bible, 'the geek shall inherit the earth'.
