Well I have got lost with who said what, as per usual with the political bickering and am too lazy to find out.
It is my opinion there are too many 'useless' courses that are of very little use in the real world, they always remind me of the old BT advert with Maureen Lipman about getting an 'ology'. What we really need are more vocational courses and a little less snobbery (if that is the word) about going to uni. I am not knocking going to uni, I just want the learning be more appropriate to the real world and the jobs out there, not a way of delaying the inevitable dole that faces so many youngsters.
My oldest grandson obtained his 2.1 in law together with horrendus debt even though he worked nearly all the time he was there. One of my other grandsons wants to study forensic psychology, will he ever get a job after his studies, who knows I worry for him.
