STS Fryderyk Chopin

Fryderyk Chopin is a Polish sailing-ship designed by Zygmunt Choreń, obviously dedicated to the composer of the early to mid 19th century Fryderyk Chopin, and launched in 1992 in the Dora Shipyard, Gdańsk, Poland. She was recently acquired by West Island College in Nova Scotia to expand their Tall Ship educational program

- 29 October 2010 15:0777247Well done with breaking these stories Paul..great stuff..yer a 'roving reporter' and no mistake. I heard a whisker of this on the news and did wonder if I had a picture somewhere in the files.
They are having a rough time of it down there off the Scillies, I believe this is the third ship in trouble. Masts are gone.
Jeez the other day there was two Fred Olsens here in the harbour. It was a rough dark night as they set off for their respective cruises. As I saw the larger of the two depart I remarked to myself that I wouldnt go if they gave me free tickets, threw in a basket of fruit, and a case of champagne !!
