21:0831540I remember a thread or a post about street weeds a while ago but can't seem to find it any where.
Just to let you know who ever it was, on Friday, almost the end of October. they have actually started spraying the kerbs and wall edges. I saw a man on a little tractor doing the biz at the bottom of Limes road.
Better late than never as they say but twice through the spring and summer would have been a lot better.

grass grows by the inches but dies by the feet.

21:4131546they are a disgrace ian, though i have to add that weeds on the wall edges should be done by the residents if they are not sprayed.
it takes me about 5 minutes every few weeks, vegetation spreading onto the pavement is an eyesore.

23:2331551Sorry lads but this is the right time of year for doing this, then it will not come back, when you do it in the growing season it takes about six weeks to work and even then it could still come back, this way you do it once and that is it.
Alot less cost that way with time etc.

23:2331552Went past us today,I hear that they had problems with the sprayer, hardly worth it now as the plants will start dying back when the frosts come, thought about opening up a jungle play area in Brookfield Place.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

09:3431567I spoke to a weed-spraying company a while ago - PWS (Professional Weed Services) who were contracted by SITA to spray the weeds 3 times each year.
Last year and this, I believe they did this just once; to my mind the contract should be direct with PWS so we (DDC) have more control over it and it would actually be cheaper as SITA wouldn't put their profit on the contract.

09:3931569Street weeding could start in Pencester Gardens with a view to weeding out the *issheads.
