  I can only speak from what i see, whenever Folkestone has it's markets
  normally the one closer to guildhall street, the roads are packed.
  maybe they need to look at not stretching it right down to the seafront.
  but it does in guildhall street seem to work.
  
  
  on the Canterbury front they don't appear to have to much of a problem with tourism, as there streets are always packed anyway, market or no market, although the market probably helps
