    Probably as you say not a rat run but all I know the Hill gets very busy when there are problems with traffic at the port as more people use the Alkham Valley .There is always a backlog of traffic trying to get out of the junction by the railway bridge.Early mornings and around Five o'clock It will get worse as more homes are built at Whitfield .Its time KCC put traffic lights in at the junction.There are two exits out of River and only one is controlled by lights.There is one through up the lanes but very narrow.On Football days it is anightmare.j
