Nooo, Roger, Labour is the doom party.
My guess is UKIP will come second, on average, and Conservatives third.
Also as a result of the divided vote, Labour may come first.

But the fact is, Roger, this is about Local Government, and the Coalition did not implement anything in that respect.
They have given us NO localism, even though it was an important part of their declared intentions in May 2010.

What we need is greater financial and administrative authority at County and District level, with less tax going to the central Treasury and more of it staying here.
We could then dedicate more resources to the local economic needs and so-by bring about more employment and increased economic output.

Ultimately, this would bring down taxes, as we'd be paying considerably less on benefits. County and District Government would be obliged to tend to the needs of their own people alone, stimulating employment and making sure employers abide to the rules, offering US jobs, and not all and sundry from low wage countries.

Presently, we are subject to EU rules of employment and benefits, while the vast majority of taxes we pay go to the central Government Treasury.
At this rate, we don't stand a chance, hence my boycott of the County elections.

To take part would mean buckling down to capitulation, and pretending we never heard of the Government's promises to give us Localism.
