  I think that the beloved member (how appropriate) for Dover and Deal doth protest too much. It is the way of the tories (John Major in particular) to privatise and cut public transport.
  The bus companies now, in the main, are private businesses and should run at a profit, this is the current government sponsored ethos. If they run at a loss, they will go out of business, and only the people who use the bus service really care about the cuts. This is the tory way.
