  I knew that level crossing when it was operated by a human. It was much safer and was closed each time for a shorter period than it is now. If there was a traffic jam the crossing operator would hold a train in the station for a minute or two to allow the traffic to flow.

  know where you mean brian, narrows suddenly and the pavement is just wide enough for one pedestrian at a time.

  a bit futher out than that howard.about half way where the road dips and narrows,with a dog leg left bend.

  not just gthe transport thats a problem.
  i have a monthly pass costing £75
  its renewed each month
  it was supposed to be renewed on 5th may
  having completed it went on bus it didnt work
  after 3 days of stagecoach giving all manner of answers none with a result
  in the end a new card was sent to me!!!!
