  It is a Tamiya 1:48 scale kit and quite straightforward to build.
  
  I am doing next an even simpler kit than this, Another Tamiya 1:48 - a Battle of Britain Spitfire Mk1.
  
  I have had a couple of people ask me how I make these kits. I could explain the process on a thread with pics as I do the next Spitfire build. This kit would be ideal for it. Would anyone be interested?

  Excellent Barry, I think last kit that I built was an Russian Aerosan, an interesting kit made of brass, a pleasure to build, about 5 years ago though. I have quite a few Revell aeronautical projects and a further brass kit of an early tube train waiting for me in the wings, slight play on words.
  
  I have in the back of my mind a scratch built concept based on the film 'Alamo', I had started on the 30mm figures some years back but sent them to reside in the attic to finish at some given time, as it would involve at least 3 months of solid modelling to bring to fruition, the diorama would need to be built from the groundwork upwards so to speak. One day .......

  6-7 weeks Howard. Tend to do an hour or so before bed most nights plus a few more hours at weekends.

  i can see the logic of doing some of it before turning in, a classic way of unwinding.
  
  i have no patience for the detail the end result,would look awful if i tried it.
  
  will leave it to others who know what they are doing.

  They certainly look very well made Barry - congratulations on your skill and patience.
  
  Like most boys I tried making them, but I must have been (still am) a bit clumsy with those kind of things and they had to be thrown away.
