Speaking of parking on pavements...

  Now for a long time, this has got my goat, the subject of Co-Op lorries parking on the pavement in Stembrook.
  
  Their own sign requests 'no parking on pedestrian walkways at any time', yet on a daily basis there they are. I made the mistake of bringing it to the warehouseman's attention once, I'm not sure what his answering grunt was meant to be, but it certainly wasn't "we'll move it straight away guv"...

  Good point Paul, maybe a strongly worded letter to the head office with a copy to your local councillor will stop them.
  
  The trouble is that the car/van/lorry seem to take precedence over the safety of pedestrians in our modern world as illustrated by the number of streets in Dover where parking on the pavement is the accepted norm.

  I've also seen a security van reverse down the road (so his nearside door is by the large roller shutter) and drive out again.
  
  I once complained about a similar thing to Securicor, I got a very bolshie letter back saying they could do what they like!

  Good job they are not trying to navigate Eythorne roundabout. Parked cars make the route for pedestrians and traffic a game of Russian Roulette. The No Left turn ( from Sandwich Rd) sign is regularly ignored and cars park all around the roundabout. Policing? Forget it!
