  I agree completely with you and Bruce, Barry. I am a Eurosceptric though, as you and Bruce are; I'm sure a different view/spin could be put by someone who is a Europhile - I wouldn't believe them though, because ultimately, it cannot work - one size fits all cannot work because all the southern european countries have mainly tourism-related economies and most of the northern ones have manufacturing and tourism is only good for 6 months of the year so they are bound to have weaker overall economies.
  
  The same tax levels and fiscal policies cannot be tied by the same laws, it's simply impossible and resuklts in what we have now - a debacle.
  
  As you say, a short term crisis will be better than a long drawn-out death.
